In times of desperate need, Farouk Systems, Inc. has been at the forefront of disaster and humanitarian relief efforts. Most recently, the haircare giant answered the call for help in Port Arthur, Texas by handing out $1 million worth of Biosilk Moisturizing Hand Sanitizer and CHI Haircare products to aid victims of Hurricane Laura.
The charitable donation is part of a $4 million pledge to help residents in Texas and Louisiana recover from the widespread damage caused when Hurricane Laura slammed into the Gulf Coast over two weeks ago.
“Farouk Systems is committed to helping those in need,” said Dr. Farouk Shami, Founder and Chairman of Farouk Systems, Inc. “Whenever there is a hurricane in the United States, we will always be there to help.”
The products were distributed at the local Civic Center. The City of Port Arthur Mayor Thurman Bill Bartie expressed his gratitude to Farouk Systems, Inc. for responding to the needs of the community.
“It is a blessing and an honor that [Dr. Farouk Shami] would come will all of this product,” said City of Port Arthur Mayor Thurman Bill Bartie. “Right now, anything helps us in this community, and we will be forever grateful.”
The act of giving back is the heart of Farouk Systems, Inc., and has always been a part of the company’s DNA.
“I feel it’s the duty of every company to help others in time of disaster and in time of need,” said Dr. Farouk Shami.
This year alone the company has contributed over $1 million worth of Biosilk Moisturizing Hand Sanitizer and CHI Natural Gardens Moisturizing Hand Sanitizer to the cities of Lake Charles in Louisiana as well as Houston, Tomball, and Fort Bend County in Texas. The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic also spurred Farouk Systems, Inc. to gift hundreds of products to healthcare and frontline workers across the United States.
