Another year is underway and with it comes a fresh round of resolutions! Whether you want to wake up earlier, volunteer, or commit to a workout routine, now’s the time to start anew.
A lot of people pledge to live a healthier lifestyle in the new year. Meal prepping on the weekends, joining a gym, and cutting back on sugar or carbs – you might be thinking about making one or a few of these changes in 2018. If you plan on joining a gym or dedicating your nights to a new workout regimen, these DIY iron-on gym shirts are sure to give you the nudge you need to get started to transform your resolutions into achievements.
There are plenty of graphic t-shirts available to buy online, but save a little money (another great New Year’s resolution) and make your own at home.
We purchased men’s t-shirts and women’s tank tops online on the cheap. We then used Cricut Design Space (you could also use a design program like InDesign or Illustrator) to make the text and gym-ages for our shirts.
Once you’ve designed your shirts, print your dumbbells and inspirational phrases onto transfer paper. You can purchase transfer paper at craft stores, office supply outlets, or online.
When the transfer sheets are printed, grab your CHI iron and get to work! Make sure you follow the iron-on directions found on your transfer paper pack (they will vary by brand).
Apply pressure while holding the CHI iron downward on the transfer sheet and lettering on top of the T’s and tanks. Once you have ironed for the specified time, let the iron-on cool. Carefully peel back the transfer paper and you’re ready to hit the gym (or pound the pavement).
Whether you vow to take “no days off” or bulk up (#armday) in the New Year, these customized iron-on shirts are sure to inspire you to stay focused on your fitness goals . Throw your one-of-a-kind shirt in your gym bag along with your necessary post-gym CHI hair product, energy-boosting snacks, and a water bottle – time to get moving!
